The UNO Jazz Ambassadors at a recent gig at Snug Harbor
Members of the University of New Orleans Jazz Ambassadors have been invited to participate in a cultural and academic exchange by Centro Colombo Americano from June 13-25 in Colombia. The UNO Jazz Ambassadors are a select group of jazz studies graduate students.
In addition to performing concerts in Medellin and Marizales, the Ambassadors will teach and coach Colombian students as part of the Promising Artists of the 21st Century Jazz Camp. The Ambassadors combo includes Allen Dejan (saxophone), Sam Wiseman (drums), Barry Stephenson (bass) and Josh Starkman (guitar). The UNO students will participate in the cultural exchange events with groups from the University of Massachusetts and The Juilliard School.
