The University of New Orleans College of Education and Human Development honored dozens of students, faculty and community members during its 38th Honors Reception on May 12 at the Homer L. Hitt Alumni and Visitors Center on the UNO campus.
Following opening remarks from Acting Chancellor Joe King, Interim Dean April Bedford presented the Milton Ferguson Faculty Award to Jane Chauvin, the Outstanding Alumnus Award to Brian Riedlinger, the Community Service Award to Abram Himelstein and Rachel Breunlin, and the Distinguished Dissertation Award to Rachel Wieck Cupit.
After the presentation of the metropolitan area awards, students received faculty awards in the departments of curriculum and instruction; educational leadership, counseling and foundations; and special education and habilitative services. Students graduating summa cum laude, magna cum laude and cum laude were also recognized for their academic excellence.
