College of Sciences Holds Honors Convocation

The University of New Orleans College of Sciences held its 38th annual honors convocation on Wednesday, April 13 in the University Center ballroom. More than 100 students were recognized for achievements in the sciences.
Mary Clancy, associate professor of biological sciences, was presented with the 2011 Undergraduate Teaching Award. She was praised for her caring approach to teaching and innovative lectures.
In addition to the presentation of departmental awards, Jessica Lovell, a senior psychology major, was the recipient of the UNO Women's Club award for Outstanding Woman Graduate in Sciences. The ceremony concluded with Dean Steven Johnson presenting the Dean's Award to seniors Matthew Mahoney and Maggie Welman, both of whom are biological sciences students with 4.0 grade point averages.
