Panel Discussion On Emergency Preparedness

John Renne, a University of New Orleans professor of planning and urban studies, will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Five Years Later: Improvements in Emergency Preparedness in New Orleans Since Hurricane Katrina.” The event, which will be held in conjunction with the release of a paper on the same topic, is co-produced by the UNO/LSU Gulf Coast Center for Evacuation and Transportation Resiliency and evacuteer.org.

The panel discussion will take place in the first floor conference room of the Intellectual Property Building, 643 Magazine Street, on Monday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m.

Renne, who is also the associate director of the Merritt C. Becker, Jr. UNO Transportation Institute, will be joined on the panel by New Orleans Deputy Mayor Col. Jerry Sneed and City Councilwoman Kristin Gisleson Palmer. Robert X. Fogarty of evacuteer.org will moderate the discussion.
