A team of University of New Orleans counseling students took first place at the doctoral level in the American Counseling Association 2011-12 Graduate Student Ethics Competition. The students will be presented with their award during a gala awards ceremony at the ACA national conference in San Francisco in March. Team members are doctoral students Kristen Dickens, Elise Johns, Bonnie King and Candace Park.
The purpose of the competition is to educate members of the association regarding ethical issues and to engage graduate students in critically analyzing a potential ethical case and creating an appropriate ethical decision-making plan. The ACA is the world’s largest association exclusively representing professional counselors in various practice settings.
