Theatre UNO Presents Holy Ghosts

January 27, 2012

Theatre UNO will present Romulus Linney’s Holy Ghosts in the Robert E. Nims Theatre in the UNO Performing Arts Center on February 7-11 at 7:30 p.m. and February 12 at 2:30 p.m. The production is directed by David Hoover, chair of film, theater and communication arts.

Linney’s 1971 two-act play takes place in the remote rural South. Choleric husband Coleman Shedman is in pursuit of his runaway wife, Nancy, who has seemingly come to the decision to marry a reverend’s son, when a religious congregation interrupts the couple’s quarrel. Their domestic dispute gives way to the lively individual stories of the congregation, and Coleman watches the tables turn as the line between sanity and madness blurs into a crescendo of religious fanaticism.

Holy Ghosts contains language and themes that some may find objectionable and unsuitable for children. The production features an ensemble cast: P.J. McKinnie (Coleman Shedman), Caleigh Keith (Nancy Shedman), Justin Bupp, Sarah Chatelain, Robert Facio, Peter Gabb, Brittany Garlepied, Kayln Hepting, Bill Mader, Mason Joiner, Paxton McCaghren, Matthew Rigdon, Zach Rogers, James Vitale and Jan Schluter.  This production also includes: Kevin Griffith (Set Designer), Lindy Bruns (Costume Designer) and Diane Baas (Lighting Designer).

Tickets are $12 or $8 for students, seniors and UNO faculty and staff. For ticket and show information, call (504) 280-SHOW.
