A University of New Orleans chapter of the international counseling honor society received the outstanding chapter award, and will be honored at a March convention in San Francisco. The UNO counselor education graduate program’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota is the recipient of the 2011-12 Chi Sigma Iota Outstanding Chapter Award.
UNO’s Alpha Eta chapter will be presented with the award during an awards ceremony at the American Counseling Association’s convention in San Francisco on March 23, 2012. Chi Sigma Iota is the international academic and professional counseling honor society.
Chantrelle Varnado-Johnson is the Alpha Eta chapter president and Adrianne Trogden is president-elect. Barbara Herlihy, professor of educational leadership, counseling and foundations, is the faculty advisor.
