Seven University of New Orleans graduates are among the New Orleans CityBusiness Women of the Year for 2011. For the 13th year, the publication honored women who have been recognized for their professional and community achievements. The honorees work in a wide variety of industries including health care, construction, law, education, media and hospitality.
The UNO alumnae honored as 2011 Women of the Year are: Christe Brewton, East Jefferson General Hospital director of education and research; Dominique Bright-Wheeler, Capital One Bank vice president and assistant general counsel; Heather Evans, Gulf Coast Bank and Trust assistant vice president, commercial lender and branch manager; Kathy Keene, Sun Belt Conference senior associate commissioner for sports administration; Rachel Piercey, The Pro Bono Project executive director; Lisa Plunkett, Susan G. Komen New Orleans executive director; and Norma Jane Sabiston, Sabiston Consultants president and founder.
