Presidential Search Committee Plans To Select Semifinalists

November 11, 2011

The search for a new leader at the University of New Orleans will move forward on Tuesday, November 15 when the presidential search committee meets for the second time. The committee will meet in the Homer L. Hitt Alumni and Visitors Center on the UNO campus to review applications with an objective to pick semifinalists. The meeting will take place at 1:00 p.m.

“Candidates have been applying for UNO’s top position directly through the UL System office, while our search consultant at R.H. Perry and Associates has been busy talking to potential applicants.  As we have seen with other university searches, we may receive some last minute applications and expect an excellent pool of recommendations from our consultant,” said University of Louisiana System President and UNO Search Committee Chair Randy Moffett.

The tentative timeline calls for semifinalist interviews on UNO’s campus the week of Nov. 28, finalist interviews and possible selection of a new president at the Dec. 8-9 UL System Board Meeting in Baton Rouge.

Voting members on the committee include UL System Board Members Paul Aucoin of Thibodaux, Andre Coudrain of Hammond, David Guidry of Harvey, E. Gerald Hebert of Kenner, Renee Lapeyrolerie of New Orleans, Student Member John Lombardo of Thibodaux, Jimmy Long, Sr. of Natchitoches, Board Vice Chair D. Wayne Parker of Choudrant and Board Chair Winfred Sibille of Sunset.  Also serving as a voting member is UNO faculty representative Neal Maroney, who was selected by the UNO University Senate’s Executive Committee.

Serving in a non-voting, advisory capacity are Brian Glorioso, Susan Hess, John Mineo, and Gary Solomon.  UL System President Randy Moffett serves as the non-voting chair of the committee.
