The University of New Orleans Department of Film, Theatre and Communication Arts will debut its new, state-of-the-art digital projector on Sunday, September 25 with a special high definition screening of “No Subtitles Necessary: Laszlo & Vilmos,” a documentary directed by James Chressanthis.
The film was an official selection at the Cannes Film Festival and winner of the “Best Feature Documentary” at the New Orleans Film Festival. It will be shown on a 32-foot screen at 3:00 p.m. in the Robert Nims Theatre at the UNO Performing Arts Center. A question and answer period with the director and special guests will follow.
The Barco 4K DLP projector is the highest resolution projector of any type available. It features four times the resolution of high definition TV. The projector will give UNO film students the opportunity to view their work as it would be seen in any of the finest theaters in the world.
