The University of New Orleans Master of Public Administration program will host the Southeastern Conference on Public Administration (SECOPA) at the Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans from September 21-24. SECOPA is the most prestigious regional conference of the American Society for Public Administration.
This year’s conference will draw participants from across the United States as well as Canada, England, South Africa, the Netherlands, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Korea and China. This is the second time in the 32-year history of the conference that is has been held in New Orleans—it was previously held in the Crescent City in 1987.
John Kiefer, director of the UNO MPA program, and UNO interim chancellor Joe King will address an international audience at the Thursday luncheon. The keynote speaker is Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne.
The American Society for Public Administration is the largest and most prominent professional organization in public administration with a diverse membership of more than 9,000 government and nonprofit administrators, scholars, consultants, contractors, students and new professionals.
