Six German University Presidents To Visit UNO

September 15, 2011

The University of New Orleans will host a delegation of six university presidents from the German Universities of Applied Sciences (U.A.S.) on campus on Friday, September 16.  The presidents represent the Berlin School of Economics and Law, Bremen University of Applied Sciences, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, Munich University of Applied Sciences, Münster University of Applied Sciences and Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences.  These universities, along with the Cologne U.A.S., are the members of the UAS7 consortium.

On Friday morning from 9:00-10:15 am in the UNO administrative building, AD101, the presidential delegation will give a brief presentation on the UAS7 consortium member institutions, followed by refreshments and time for informal discussions.

Since signing the cooperation agreement with the UAS7 in 2008, UNO has exchanged 21 students with Berlin, Bremen, Hamburg and Munich.  Several UNO students have also received scholarships and stipends from UNO's partner schools for their study in Bremen and Hamburg. The university presidents are interested in expanding student exchange and faculty collaboration.
