University of New Orleans student Trenton Thomas has been selected to speak at the opening banquet for the National Orientation Directors Association Conference. The conference will take place in New Orleans from October 30-November 2.
Thomas, a senior music education major, was one of only four undergraduate students from across the country chosen to speak at the banquet. In order to be considered, students were required to submit an application and a short video. Thomas is a UNO orientation leader and an accomplished violinist.

The National Orientation Directors Association Conference assembles more than 1,000 higher education professionals from the U.S. and Canada. The theme of the 2011 conference is “service, spirit and soul.” During his presentation, Thomas will speak about soul; he will also perform.
The mission of the National Orientation Directors Association is to provide education, leadership and professional development in the fields of college student orientation, transition and retention.
