UNO to Offer Additional Theater Camp for Ages 5 to 7 July 27-August 2

(July 15, 2009, New Orleans, La.) The University of New Orleans Lakefront Youth Theatre Experiment (LYTE) will hold an additional weeklong half-day theater camp July 27-August 2 for children ages 5 to 7.
 
Munchkins & Monkeys Mini Summer Theatre Camp will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the UNO Performing Arts Center Robert E. Nims Theatre on the Lakefront Campus. The mini-camp will run concurrently with the final week of "The Wizard of Oz"  summer camp.
 
Throughout the weeklong program, campers will be introduced to the basics of movement and theater techniques through various games and activities. The mini-camp will culminate in a live performance of the Frank L. Baum classic, "The Wizard of Oz," adapted for young performers by Kathryn Schultz Miller.
 
Performances will be held on Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 2 at 2:30 p.m.
 
Tuition is $75 and each camper will receive a free camp T-shirt.
Enrollment is limited to 10 campers.
