The art exhibition It Is featuring the works of Austrian artists Ursula Groser, Elisabeth Schutting and Albin Schutting is on display through December 6 at the University of New Orleans St. Claude Gallery, 2429 St. Claude Avenue.

It Is deals with questions of existence on different levels and in different perspectives. 

Groser studies growth and biological processes in her installations and questions human identity in her video works.

Albin and Elilsabeth Schutting critically look into the validity of media reports and their paintings are in communication with one another. This also applies to the series of paintings "Victims of Torture" by Albin Schutting, which is in opposition to a video by Elisabeth Schutting.

It Is will remain on display at the UNO St. Claude Gallery through December 6.

The University of New Orleans, UNO Center Austria and the City of Innsbruck, Austria, have held an artistic exchange of works by UNO and Tyrolean artists for the past decade. Since the program's inception, Tyrolean artists have visited New Orleans in the fall to exhibit works while each summer UNO artists' works are featured at galleries in Innsbruck.
