UNO Homecoming 2009 Celebration November 1-7

The University of New Orleans will celebration Homecoming 2009 November 1 through 7 with festivities culminating at the UNO-Xavier (Ohio) football game on November 7 at 7 p.m. at Tad Gormley Stadium.

A schedule of events follows.

Sunday, November 1

Homecoming competitions begin!

3 p.m.-5 p.m. The Student Activities Council will lead students in decorating the campus.

Monday, November 2

Voting for Homecoming king and queen begins!

12:30 p.m. Homecoming festivities officially kick off at the Quad with a second line band and free food.

7 p.m. Saints game viewing in the Homer L. Hitt Alumni Center Ballroom. Free wings.

Tuesday, November 3

Homecoming competitions continues!

7 p.m. Rock Band Gaming Competition, Homer L. Hitt Alumni Center Ballroom.

Wednesday, November 4

Homecoming competitions continues!

12:30 p.m. Mocktail competition, Student Park Amphitheatre

4:30 p.m. deadline for window banners must be set up inside the UC Deck

Thursday, November 5

Homecoming competitions continues!

10 a.m.-2 p.m. SAC presents mechanical bull riding and "Kustom Signz" printing

12:30 p.m. Mechanical bull riding competition

Friday, November 6

3 p.m. Football game banners due in SAC office, MH 153

7 p.m. Bonfire and Pep Rally, shell parking lot behind the Cove. Free s'mores complements of the Division of Student Affairs

Homecoming court announced

Saturday, November 7

3:45 p.m. Tailgating in front of Tad Gormley Stadium, City Park. Music by Bag of Donuts

7 p.m. UNO Club Football Team hosts Xavier (Ohio); Homecoming court presentation; homecoming competition winners announcement

Game day tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for UNO students and children 17 and under. Save $2 with advance ticket purchase at UNO Recreation and Fitness Center and UNO Bursar Office. For more information on the UNO Club Football Team, visit www.privateerfootball.com.

Homecoming week events are sponsored by the Student Activities Council and the Division of Student Affairs. Game Day activities are presented by the Student Activities Council, Student Affairs, the UNO International Alumni Association, Recreation and Intramural Sports and UNO Club Football.
