UNO College of Education Houses Children's and Young Adult Literature Library
10/22/2009
The UNO College of Education and Human Development's Children's and Young Adult Literature Library is among the University's best-kept secrets. After years of renovation, the library housed in room 305 of the Bicentennial Education Center is open and available for students, faculty and staff to check out books.
The library offers a wide variety of literature for both children and adolescents. The picture book collection is in room 305-Q while the non-fiction and novel collections are in 305-O.
"Since Gentilly is still waiting for a public library post-Katrina, this is the place to find reading materials for the young people in your life," said Pat Austin, professor of education.
The schedule for the library, which is staffed by graduate assistants and volunteers, follows.
- Monday: 10 a.m.-11:45 a.m. and noon to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday: 9 a.m.-10:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Thursday: 9:30 a.m.-4:45 p.m.
- Friday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
You can browse the collection via the online catalog at http://read.uno.edu. New books are continually added, so visit often.
