Celebrated Author Reza Aslan to Speak at UNO on November 13

Author Reza AslanReza Aslan, the celebrated author of No God but God and How to Win a Cosmic War and a contributor to CNN, MSNBC and other major media networks, will make a presentation on the current crisis in Iran at the University of New Orleans on Friday, November 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The presentation titled Crisis in Iran: The Future of the Iranian Dream will be held in the UNO Performing Arts Center Recital Hall. The event will be hosted by the World Affairs Council of New Orleans (WACNO) in collaboration with the UNO International Studies Program. WACNO, a nonpartisan organization, encourages the presentation of various perspectives in the current debate over the crisis.

Dr. Aslan will be visiting New Orleans to promote educational efforts within the local community and boost common understanding of international issues that affect the future of the Middle East. Aslan recognizes that "the city possesses one of the largest and most international communities in the United States and deserves a high level discussion on world affairs," said Eduardo Platon, executive director of the World Affairs Council of New Orleans.

The presentation is part of the WACNO speaker series program on the issues of crises in the Middle East and Asia. Admission is $5 for students, $10 for WACNO members and $15 for non-members. WACNO student members will be admitted free.
