Only Ticketholders to Be Admitted to President's Event; UNO to Hold Classes
10/14/2009
University of New Orleans administrators are asking those who do not have tickets to attend President Obama's Town Hall meeting on Thursday, October 15 to avoid visiting campus that day. Scheduled classes will go on as usual and the increase in traffic may make it challenging for UNO students to attend class.
The University is expecting a significant increase in traffic and parking on and near campus will be difficult. Additionally, several of the roads leading to the campus will be closed in advance of the President's visit. For information on road closures and parking, see the Presidential Visit Map.
Accommodations will not be available for those without tickets to the town hall meeting. The U.S. Secret Service and White House staff will only allow ticketholders into the event, so the best way to view the event for non-ticketholders will be through live television or Webcast coverage. Several media outlets will be broadcasting the event live.
